Hot Rod Barbeque Year 8 is Finally Here!

Looks like a great day to have a Hot Rod Barbeque. Thelma, Diego, Ariana, and I are all real excited to have everyone over this aftrenoon. Looking forward to seeing a different set of cars and meeting new people.

With time running out, and my progress on the diorama coming to a stand-still, I needed another option for the invite. While at Back to the Fifties (June18-20) I took several photos that I thought had "invite potential." I sent the photos to my older brother, Bryon, and he worked his magic. He blended one of my photos with a photo he took of the redwood forest in California. The last detail he needed from me was to paint a sign that to be used as the text on the invite. What you see here is the result. Bryon will add this image to the invite and soon we'll be ordering postcards!

Invite Iteration Dos

After a quick Internet search I was unable to find vintage Matchbox cars in the proper era, so Diego and I went on a search to find cars from the '50s. This is what we found.

The plan now is to create a small diorama, maybe with an old gas station, some rock, grass, trees and people, then take a photo of that for the invite.

I have a small collection of these wonderful old Matchbox cars made by Lesney from the 60's, and I want to use them for this year's invite. However, I need to get my hands on a few more to pull it off. Anyone have any of these they could let me use?

Spring is finally here! What does that mean? It means it's time to start taking photos for this year's invite!

I have this fabulous idea, but it had to be coaxed out of me using a drill press! It's going to take a bit of scavenging and, as pops likes to say, "cooperation."
